Japanese Two-Panel Screen: Harbor Scene in a Modernist View.
Bountiful mountain overlooking a city, divided by an occupied river. The shapes and colors that make up this unique painting allow for an unconventional take on a modern harbor view. Mineral pigments and gold on textured silk, black lacquer trim with brass mounts. Seal reads: Minagawa Taizo. Notes about the artist: Minagawa Taizō (1917-2005) was born in Kyoto to a family of textile dyers and weavers.
