Very Large 17th Century Ash Glaze Tamba Tsubo
Oversized tsubo, or storage jar, from the Tamba Kiln, one of the 6 ancient kilns of Japan. Beautiful ash glaze with continuous drip glaze around the shoulder of the vessel. Beautiful signature on the shoulder, as shown in photograph. Signature is obscured, but appears to read "Chizuo." In excellent condition.
