Shigaraki Kintsugi Embellished Plate
Shigaraki is one of the six ancient kilns of Japan (said to have been established in the 8th century), and is known for its stoneware ceramics. This plate was split intentionally as part of the design, but the artist filled the splits with silver and gold, using a Japanese technique of making repairs known as kintsugi. Comes in original kiri wood storage box. Calligraphy on the box reads: Shigaraki (it was signed by the kiln).
