Large 19th Century Italian Console

Beautiful and stately Italian antique console table from the mid 19th century. Constructed with burl veneer, and ebonized accents. Hand painted vignettes of classically inspired images decorate all parts of this console, including a pair of chimera on the base, decorative vines on the legs and sides, and a scene of a goddess (possibly Athena) and two angels bestowing gifts upon a man with books, a globe, and a telescope (possibly a writer, or a merchant).
