Japanese Two Panel Screen: Winter Plum Blossoms and Camellias
A graceful Japanese two-panel screen centered on the gnarled trunk and arching branches of a flowering plum tree, accented by red camellias and slender bamboo. Painted in mineral pigments on gold leaf, the composition celebrates the quiet beauty of the winter season, when the plum is among the first trees to bloom and symbolizes resilience and renewal in Japanese art. The screen is finished with a silk brocade (Kasa) border, black lacquer trim, and elaborate bronze mounts. Anonymous artist.
