Japanese Two Panel Screen: Pheasants in Autumn Garden

A finely painted Japanese two-panel screen depicting a pair of pheasants among blooming Japanese anemones, chrysanthemums, and tall autumn grasses. Executed in mineral pigments and gold leaf on mulberry paper, the composition reflects the enduring Japanese appreciation for seasonal landscapes, with the pheasants serving as a traditional motif associated with the autumn months. A silk brocade border, wood trim, and elaborate bronze mounts complete the presentation. Anonymous artist.
