Japanese Two Panel Screen: Embroidered Pine at Water’s Edge

Masterfully executed embroidery over painted silk renders a beautifully shaped venerable pine. Extraordinary details such as pine needles, lichen, ripples in the water, and texture of the bark are impressive. Silk screen has all over gold accents. Beautifully preserved and in excellent condition. Signature (which is also embroidered) reads: Sei (Kiyoshi). Painted silk, gold dust, gold flake and embroidery in a wood frame.
