Japanese Two Panel Screen: Late 19th Century Kimono Mounted on Early 20th Century Screen

In the Heian period (794 - 1185), noblemen would hang their kimonos on ropes as a temporary privacy screen (and as a means of flaunting their wealth). Beautiful and bold patterned kimono with vibrant colored bamboo and mons (family crest) design.
