Japanese Six Panel Screen: Abstract Cloudscape on Silver Ground

A luminous Japanese six-panel screen featuring an atmospheric composition of drifting silver clouds and soft passages of gold mist. Executed in mineral pigments with silver and gold dust on mulberry paper, the surfaces subtly shift with changing light, emphasizing the layered textures and quiet movement across each screen. The restrained abstract design reflects the refined aesthetic of the Taisho period (1912–1926), while Negoro-style lacquer frames and pewter hardware provide a handsome architectural finish.
