Bronze Art Deco Sculpture of a Pair of French Greyhounds
A very fine and well defined bronze sculpture set on a marble base by renowned French sculptor Irénée Rochard (1906-1984). Rochard was born in Villefranche-sur-Saone in 1906 into a family of artists and studied art between 1924 and 1928. He became a member of the National Society of Fine Arts in 1938. His focus was very much on animals. While he used many materials he favored bronze. He won numerous awards for his work and his work was acquired for national collections in Paris and New York.
